Experience Through Their Eyes

September 2025. First visit today. Visited with my daughter and two grands. This is an older establishment but in great shape. Basically plain decor reminiscent of the 60's. Booths, tables and counter seating. Open to serve breakfast and lunch. I ordered the Patty Melt. It was very good. Serverd on two pieces of toasted and buttered rye bread. One third pound patty, cheese and grilled onions. Comes with Soup of the Day. Friday being a very good Cream of Potato soup. The real shocker were the very affordable prices. My $8.95 meal would probably be at least $12 to $15 at many other locals. There is a kids menu but did not see any "Senior" specials, but with the low prices really not needed. So if you are in Genoa Illinois and looking for a breakfast or lunch restaurant serving very good basic food, give Genoa Cafe a try.

2 omelettes, side of bacon, short stack of pancakes and 2 coffees for under $30! This same meal at iHop would cost you over $50! And friendly staff to boot!
